For more than 60 years, Angelo Caputo’s Fresh Markets has served neighborhoods in the Chicagoland area with quality groceries, low prices, and friendly customer service. Our founder, Angelo Caputo, opened the first fresh market in 1958, about 30 minutes to the east in Elmwood Park. Originally known as “Caputo’s New Farm Produce and Italian Specialties,” our name has evolved, but our dedication to provide customers with the same tradition and legacy has stayed the same.
Over the years, we have continued to open many other new and exciting grocery store locations, including in 2004, when we created our Bloomingdale store at 166. E. Lake St. We serve all of our valued customers with first-class produce selections, warm and flavorful Italian bakery items, and much more. Enjoy the finest breads, desserts, and pastries at our Bloomingdale bakery, or select premium cheeses, meats, salsas, and specialties from our Bloomingdale deli. Angelo Caputo’s Fresh Markets is here to serve you with quality products at a value.
Angelo Caputo’s Fresh Markets is a proud to be a member of the business community in the Village of Bloomingdale. Like us, the community has a strong heritage and legacy. Bloomingdale dates back to 1833 when it was one of the earliest villages to be settled in DuPage County, Illinois. Originally known as “Meacham’s Grove” for a family of early settlers, different areas of land would become the village’s that are currently known as Bloomingdale, Roselle, and unincorporated Medinah.
Between 1950 to present, Bloomingdale’s population astronomically increased from only a few hundred people to 22,000. Of the current population, around 16% have Italian heritage, placing Bloomindale in the top 20 villages/cities/towns in the state for the highest percentage of Italians within a community.
Bloomingdale is a beautiful village with a hint of “countryside charm” while also hosting several small and mid-sized commercial businesses. Additionally, there are many recreational opportunities for families to visit and enjoy, such as the Spring Creek Reservoir Forest Preserve, Bloomingdale Park District Museum, Meacham Grove, Bloomingdale Golf Club, and the Oasis Water Park.
