Visit Addison's Favorite Grocery Store

In 1958, our founder Angelo Caputo opened his first fresh market in Elmwood Park, just over 10 miles east of Addison. The low prices, high quality of produce, and Italian bakery products quickly made our store popular. The Caputo family slowly began opening grocery stores around Chicagoland as demand for our products continued to grow. We opened Caputo’s Addison grocery store in 1991 and have been proudly serving the community ever since. Our current space at 510 W. Lake Street boasts an expansive fresh selection of products available at affordable prices.

Remodel

When our original lease expired in 2001, we leapt at the chance to expand and improve our store for our customers. At 40,000 square feet, the new Lake Street location was twice the size of our first building. But we wanted to do better. In 2018, we finished our additional 10,000 square foot renovation, which gave us space for expanded produce sections, a sushi bar, an extensive hot foods department, a fully stocked bar, and more. Come visit Addison’s premiere Italian grocery store and tell us how you like the new space!

City History

Just 20 miles west of downtown Chicago, Addison, Illinois is a vibrant suburb in DuPage County. Settled in the 1830s, the town was originally known as Dunklee’s Grove after one of the area’s original pioneers. The village of Addison was officially incorporated in 1884.
Today, almost 37,000 people call this beautiful village home. Besides a number of parks, local restaurants, and a popular public library, Addison has a robust school system, with seven elementary schools feeding into Addison Trail High School. Students benefit from a unique exchange program with Triggaiano, Italy, Addison’s sister city. With international ties, shopping districts, and multiple nearby forest preserves, Addison is a great place to live, learn, and raise a family.

Directions

We’d love to see you! Here are a few different ways to find us:
Lake Street: Our store is located along West Lake Street. You can access Lake Street from Interstates 290 and 355. We’re situated away from the road, so keep an eye out for Lake Mill Plaza. Once you see the plaza or our distinctive glass addition, turn into our parking lot.
Mill Road: Our Mill Road entrance is less busy than the Lake Street entrance. Running North to South, you can get to Mill Road from residential Addison areas. As you approach our store, look for the entry to Lake Mill Plaza. Once you’ve turned off the road, go straight past a few smaller storefronts. Our store will be at the end of the Plaza on your left.
